Every successful technology initiative begins long before the first line of code is written, the first server is installed, or the first budget is approved. It starts with a conversation.
Sometimes it’s a conversation with a colleague down the hall. Other times it’s with a peer from another agency who has already solved the problem you’re trying to tackle. Those conversations can change the direction of a project, save months of work, and help avoid costly mistakes.
That’s one of the reasons WRITA exists.
Every day, public sector technology professionals across the Western United States face remarkably similar challenges. Cybersecurity threats continue to evolve. Artificial intelligence creates new opportunities and new questions. Technology expectations continue to grow while staffing and budgets remain under pressure.
No single agency has every answer.
Together, however, we have decades of collective experience.
WRITA was built on the belief that collaboration makes every organization stronger. Through our member forums, educational webinars, conferences, and professional relationships, we create opportunities for government technology leaders to learn from one another rather than reinvent solutions independently.
This year’s Fall Summit, September 1–3 in Salt Lake City, reflects that same philosophy.
Our theme, From Blueprint to Innovation: Draft the Future this Fall, reminds us that innovation isn’t something that simply happens. It is designed, refined, tested, and strengthened through collaboration. Every keynote, breakout session, and hallway conversation contributes to the blueprint.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll introduce you to the speakers, members, ideas, and conversations that will shape this year’s Summit. More importantly, we’ll continue highlighting the incredible expertise that already exists throughout the WRITA community.
